Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities

Supervise, direct, plan, design and witness geotechnical investigations to work out proposals and esimtates and to estimate personnel.

Review samples in laboratory from field investigations and test trenches for soil, rock and groundwater characterizations.

Prepare final field logs for geotechnical reports using geotechnical software such as geosystem, crsi-wall, gstabl7 and plaxis.

Research geologic references to determine site specifics and aerial geologic conditions.

Analyze site and structural project data including foundation, retaining wall, stormwater management and pavement design and recommend changes.

Evaluate progress and prepare letters, memorandums, and geotechnical reports that present results.

Hours of Work per Week
40 hours/5 days a week

Minimum Requirements
A master's degree or equivalent with a concentration in structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering or related.
