Hillis-Carnes Welcomes Gabriel Hua as Environmental Division Manager

Hillis-Carnes is pleased to announce that Gabriel Hua has joined our Leesburg, Virginia, office as Environmental Division Manager. Gabe brings more than 15 years of experience in environmental consulting and construction services, strengthening our environmental operations and leadership across Northern Virginia.

Gabe holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy and a minor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), both from the University of Maryland, College Park. His experience encompasses a broad range of environmental and safety services, including site assessment, soil and groundwater remediation, brownfields redevelopment, and voluntary cleanup programs. He has investigated and remediated numerous sites impacted by petroleum, chlorinated solvents, and metals contamination, often achieving risk-based closures. This expertise allows him to help clients navigate complex regulatory requirements, mitigate environmental risks, respond effectively to emergencies, and ensure safe, compliant operations—delivering measurable value and peace of mind for both clients and the company.

Gabe has extensive experience working with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as industrial, retail, and commercial real estate clients nationwide, with strong depth in the Mid-Atlantic region. Prior to joining Hillis-Carnes, he served as a senior consultant at another AEC firm, leading environmental teams on high-profile due diligence and remediation projects.

In his new role, Gabe will lead the continued growth and success of the Leesburg office while providing leadership within Hillis-Carnes’ Environmental Services practice. He will mentor and develop environmental professionals, guide technical strategies, support business growth initiatives, and help expand the firm’s Environmental, Health & Safety services.
