Hillis-Carnes Welcomes Richard Bichsel, R.G., as Senior Project Manager

Hillis-Carnes is pleased to announce that Richard Bichsel, R.G., has joined our Richmond, Virginia, branch office as a Senior Project Manager. Richard brings more than 20 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections to support our operations across Central Virginia.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Arizona State University and is a licensed Geologist with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality service, technical expertise, and dependable results across a wide range of market sectors throughout the United States. His experience includes managing complex field and inspection programs, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards. Known for his professionalism and reliability, Richard has built lasting client relationships through consistent performance and a practical, solutions-focused approach.

In addition to his technical and project management expertise, Richard has played an active role in mentoring and training new hires and interns, helping cultivate the next generation of industry professionals. His leadership in the field, commitment to safety, and focus on quality assurance align closely with Hillis-Carnes’ core values and operational standards.

In his new role, Richard will support project execution, client engagement, and help drive regional growth initiatives, with a particular focus on expanding and enhancing our commercial client base in the Richmond area. His experience and client-centered approach will be instrumental in advancing our continued growth.
