Marketing Manager, Gina DePinto, Is Recognized as One of Maryland’s Finest
Marketing Manager, Gina DePinto, of Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. (Annapolis Junction, MD office) was honored as one of Maryland’s Finest Young Professionals through the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Maryland Chapter. She is pictured holding her award received by 26-year-old Guest Speaker and Hopkins Grad, Lea Faraone, who is currently working as a nurse in Baltimore and battles with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) every day. These individuals are recognized for demonstrating great leadership, being active in their community, and excelling in their profession. The honoree’s helped raise money for the CF Foundation, which receives no government funding, in order to help save the lives of children and adults with this life-threatening disease. Cystic Fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease which affects the lungs and digestive system. Approximately 30,000 Americans have CF and more than ten million are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. Advances continue to be made in finding a cure and donations to the CF Foundation help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research.
In order to help raise money for the CF Foundation and raise awareness, Gina held an “American Pep Rally” fundraising event the night before the Presidential Election at the new Diamondback Brewery located in McHenry Row. That night was a true testament of the exceptional impact Gina has made on the people in her life, both inside and outside of the workplace. A number of her co-workers, clients, and friends came out to support her and the CF Foundation, which helped raise an additional $1,000 for this amazing cause.
Of the 30 individuals being honored as Maryland’s Finest 2016, Gina made the Top Five Fundraisers list, raising $5,800, and was recognized at the Maryland’s Finest Awards Reception which was held at the American Visionary Art Museum. In addition, Gina will be recognized on a billboard for this accomplishment, alongside the other top fundraisers, which will be displayed in Baltimore early next year. She was also featured in the online edition of the Baltimore Sun and on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Maryland Chapter Facebook page. Not only is Gina one of Maryland’s Finest, but she is one of our finest here at Hillis-Carnes! Congratulations Gina, we are so proud of you!
