Mike Hillis
Mike supports our clients with more than 37 years of industry experience in construction monitoring and materials testing, geotechnical drilling, design/build specialty construction, production, and project management. He has managed and performed construction inspection and materials testing services for hundreds of projects in the
Maryland, Pennsylvania, DC, and Virginia areas. Major areas of responsibility include extensive field experience in Geotechnical Drilling involving the installation of support-of-excavation systems such as soil nails and shotcrete, sheet piling, and H-pile and lagging; soil remediation; rock profiling; soil compaction, rock, and chemical grouting; installation of micropiles and helical anchors; vacuum excavation for utility location and foundation verification; inspection and cleaning of underground stormwater management systems using vacuum trucks, as well as residential/industrial grading and underground utilities projects. Mike’s technical expertise also includes deep and shallow foundation systems, soils (structural fills and utility backfill), concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, post-tensioning, roofing, hot mix asphalt, and percolation testing and installation of septic systems.
Mike earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Loyola College, and is the Branch Manager of our Woodbine, Maryland office, overseeing our Specialty Geotechnical Group.
