Kaiser Permanente North Baltimore HUB
The Kaiser Permanente North Baltimore HUB is a full-service outpatient medical campus located in Lutherville‑Timonium, Maryland, serving members throughout the Baltimore metropolitan region. The development includes a five-story, approximately 225,000 SF medical office and ambulatory care building and a seven-story, 330,000 SF parking structure providing approximately 1,025 parking spaces. The $247 million facility functions as a regional ambulatory care hub designed to meet the current and future healthcare needs of Kaiser Permanente members.
The building houses a comprehensive range of outpatient services, including ambulatory surgery, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, diagnostic imaging, clinical laboratories, oncology pharmacy, and chemotherapy infusion, primary and specialty care clinics, and a community health space. Designed by Gresham Smith and constructed by Whiting‑Turner Contracting Company, the facility incorporates sustainable design strategies and achieved LEED Gold certification, including a rooftop photovoltaic array and green roof areas that support energy efficiency and patient wellness.
Hillis-Carnes provided Construction Materials Testing and Inspection Services during the construction phase of this project. The scope of work included the relocation of underground utilities for future building construction, as well as the testing and inspections of cast-in-place concrete, utilities, structural steel, footings, grout, mass grading, reinforcing steel, roofing and brick, and floor flatness and levelness. In addition, for the parking garage, Hillis-Carnes monitored micropile installations.
