The Lodge at Truitt Homestead, located near Rehoboth Beach, is at the center of Truitt Homestead, a 55-plus community of 90 single-family homes. The Lodge is an independent-living three-story, 126,291 SF complex with 85 units, including a mix of standard, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments for seniors 65 or older. Amenities include a large dining room, cafe, pub, family lounge, indoor and outdoor pool, theater, game room, multi-purpose room for programming, fitness center, beauty salon, barbershop and spa, covered porches, and patios.

Hillis-Carnes provided construction materials testing and inspection services for grading/fill placement, utilities, spread footing foundations, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, floor flatness/levelness, structural steel, sprayed fireproofing, all reinforced and grouted masonry, and wood framing. Hillis-Carnes also provided a geotechnical and materials engineer to review, analyze, compile, evaluate test results, and provide technical recommendations as needed.
